Frequently Asked Questions :

Wedding Photography

How would you describe your photography style on the day of a wedding? At the risk of sounding like most wedding photographers, I describe my style as generally "photojournalistic". In practice, I feel most comfortable sitting back and waiting for moments to happen - because it's a wedding, and that’s what things do on a wedding day. During group/family photos, a first look, or especially during an engagement session I am happy to do some prompting and suggest poses if needed. Everyone is comfortable with a different degree of direction, and I like to try to find the right amount and tone of direction for each couple that I work with. My goal is always to get a good mix of formal and informal photos - again, depending on the tone of the wedding.

How many photos will we get from our wedding day? This will vary from wedding to wedding, but on average I usually deliver about 50 images for every hour of coverage.

How long does it take to receive proofs and final images? A small "Sneak peek" album is provided within 2 weeks after the wedding. Final photos are delivered within 3 months after your wedding.

Can we see an example of a contract? I am happy to send a blank contract upon request. I like to go through my contract in person with every couple, as it explains a lot of what I do in greater detail, as well as what you can expect from me as your wedding photographer (and a little bit of what is expected from you as well - don’t worry. It’s all good stuff, if not a little dry sounding in the contract!)

Is retouching, color adjustments and major editing included in your package? Color adjustments and edits happen to some small extent on every single photograph that I deliver. Major retouching is something that I CAN do, but tend to try my best to shoot in a way that makes it unnecessary - That said, I do not charge extra for the retouching that goes into my wedding galleries.

Do you charge any travel fees? I do not charge travel fees for weddings in New England.

How much of a deposit do you require and when it is due?  I currently require a non-refundable $400 retainer fee upon signing a contract. This is a part of your overall balance, so it is NOT an extra fee on top of any package price.

What forms of payment do you accept (credit card, cash, check)? I can accept any of the above payment types.

Can we request specific shots we would like to have? Absolutely! I do my best to capture as many of the "standard" wedding shots throughout the day (shoes, rings, mother of the bride zipping up the dress, walking down the aisle etc.), but I love the little things that make each wedding unique, so it's more important to me that I capture the things that YOU want captured. While my favorite words to hear before a wedding are “we trust you”, I am also always happy to take ideas and special requests into consideration.
